Angela Peters began her nursing career after years of working in accounting and IT.  She earned her degree as an Associate Degree Nurse in 2004 and an Accounting Degree in 1993 from the College of Lake County.  She went on to pursue her BSN from University of Wisconsin at Green Bay.  From there she earned her MSN as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC in 2011 and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Eastern Kentucky University in 2017.  She also earned a Post Master's Certificate from University of St Francis as a PMHNP and is board certified as a pain management registered nurse.  Angela owns and operates her own psychiatry practice in Illinois and treats patients age 14 through adulthood.  She also has experience with oncology patients, pain management, long term care, and community health as well as working with incarcerated individuals.
  
She has worked in nursing education since 2017, educating those pursuing an associate’s degree in nursing.  Although she now works in the PMHNP, DNP program at RFU, she started at RFU educating students in the Masters Entry into Nursing Program.  She enjoys nursing education and helping students achieve their goals for higher education.
