Dr. Jessica Lewis received her PhD in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University (FIU) in 2019. She completed her Master's degree at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL, and her Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

As Chicago Medical School’s Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Lewis provides leadership for the Academic Success Program, the medical student learning communities, student professionalism and leadership, learner mistreatment, and special programs. Dr. Lewis is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foundational Sciences and Humanities. 

Dr. Lewis came to Chicago Medical School from FIU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, FL, where she was a key member of the student affairs team at a newly formed medical school. There, she led the development of new medical student learning communities and co-curricular and extracurricular programs that offered students specialized competencies in leadership development, teaching skills, community service learning, and overall student wellness.

Her research areas include examining underrepresented in medicine applicants in the medical school admissions process, leadership development in undergraduate medical education, medical student professional identity formation, and co-curricular program evaluation.
