Kristine Tierney , DNP, APRN, CRNA

Coordinator of Clinical Education

Dr. Tierney is a Rosalind Franklin University alumna and has been a CRNA since 2017. She received her BSN from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL. Her nursing experience includes the cardiovascular and thoracic ICU at Loyola University Medical Center. Prior to ICU, she worked in the emergency department at Loyola and as a critical care transport nurse. She worked as a firefighter and paramedic before nursing. She was first introduced to the world of nurse anesthetists while in paramedic school and CRNAs inspired her to pursue a career in anesthesia. Within the department she serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Education and has been a guest lecturer since 2018. Dr. Tierney currently lectures in several courses including; principles of anesthesia, pathophysiology, and advanced anesthesia pharmacology. She practices clinically at several facilities located in Indiana and Illinois. Kristine is a preceptor for SRNAs at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, one of the programs' top rated clinical sites.
