Laurie G. Broutman, MD

Assistant Professor and Course Director, Patient Safety

Dr. Broutman received her MD from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals.

She is board certified in internal medicine. She has taught medical students at the Chicago Medical School since 1998.

Dr. Broutman received the Laureate Award from the Illinois Northern Chapter of the American College of Physicians in 2004, the Outstanding Professor – Patient Safety award for the Patient Safety course at the Chicago Medical School in 2014 and Special Recognition for Contribution to CMS Educational Innovation 2015-2016.

Her interests include patient safety and preparation / remediation of medical students for the CMS M3 Clinical Skills Exam and the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills exam. She enjoys doing crossword puzzles in her spare time. Of course, her primary passion is her family.
