George Rattin has spent his career primarily in leadership and advancement in support of education. He currently serves as Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, a graduate school focusing on the interprofessional education of the next generation of health and biomedical professionals dedicated to discovering knowledge and improving wellness. In his role, he leads a team focused on supporting RFU’s major and principal individual and gift planning donors. Currently, he leads the university’s scholarship initiative-- the $20,000,000 Empowering Scholars Campaign. Before joining RFU in 2016, he spent over 20 years as a consultant, institutional leader, chief advancement officer, and teacher.

George is an active member of the nonprofit community. He serves on the Executive Board of AFP Chicago as President-Elect. He has also served as a peer mentor for that group. George is also a member of the American Association of Medical Colleges, Group on Institutional Advancement, where he serves as a judge in their Awards of Excellence program, as well as a member of the Development Steering Committee and the Discipline Advisory Group (Development). George is also a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. George has been a presenter, facilitator, and organizer in all the organizations he is a member of. His service reflects a larger view of the importance of nonprofit organizations to the world and the belief that through collaboration, all benefit more. He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Supervision and Administration from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor’s Degree in the Teaching of English from the University of Illinois at Chicago. George is a lifelong learner and holds many certificates and certifications in advancement.
