Today, I held a dean’s cabinet meeting and heard reports on the progress of each non-compliant standard. We are making significant progress. The work effort graphic will be updated today to reflect 25 percent. In this past week, we received questions regarding ED33 from the LCME. This is extremely important and helpful as it now gives us specific direction in terms of preparing documentation to show that we are successfully meeting this standard.
Two additional strategic partners have been engaged in our efforts to address the issues at hand. One is helping us hold focus sessions and forums regarding the diversity standard, as well as holding a focus session with our Educational Affairs Committee to discuss the centralized management of the curriculum standard. The other is working behind the scenes helping us stay on task and making sure we are directly answering the questions that the LCME has asked us to report on. It is important that we get this right, and I am willing to involve as many people as it takes so that everything possible will be done to make an accurate and successful submission on December 15.
