What you need to apply


  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education prior to matriculation into the program.
  • A minimum overall GPA of 3.00 for the last two years of undergraduate study is required.


  • Applicants must hold a current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the United States, its territories, or protectorates.
  • Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS Certifications as well as Wisconsin and Illinois Nursing Licensures.
  • Nursing Licensures must be kept current throughout the program.


  • At least one, preferably two, years of experience as an RN in an ICU.
  • Two years of experience is strongly preferred. 

Standardized Exams

  • The Graduate Education Record (GRE) examination is required.
  • GRE scores must be sent directly to Rosalind Franklin University from Education Testing Services (ETS).
  • There is no minimum score for the GRE requirement.  Successful candidates typically have scores above the 50th percentile in all three areas.

Letters of Recommendation

  • Three letters of recommendation from a physician with whom the applicant worked in a critical care setting, the applicant's supervisor, and a CRNA with whom the applicant has spent time in the operating room observing surgery and anesthesia.


  • Official transcripts submitted from each college, university, and community college previously attended.

Computer Competency

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
