Dr. Najafi is currently with the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (Chicago, USA) and serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Podiatric Surgery and Applied Biomechanics and the Director of Dr. Scholl’s Human Performance Laboratory. This position came after a graduate study leading to Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuroscience at Harvard as well as teaching, and conducting research at various institutes.
He has over a decade experience in designing bio-inspired sensors for objective evaluation of healthy state of patients with locomotor dysfunctions, over 100 scientific publications in peer reviewed international journals or conference proceeding with more than 1200 citations (H-Index=16), six patents, and PI or key investigator on over 9 active grants including industrial, national and international grants. His unique expertise is the translation of wearable sensors for more accurate movement assessment of patients in their natural environment where they're the most comfortable and active.
